At WorkOne, the Youth Career Advisors help you navigate through choices you’ll need to make now that will impact your future. They offer education and training advice and opportunities that will help you be successful.

Services include:

CAREER PLANNING

  • Goals:  Develop a path to get you where you want to be through college and career planning
  • Skills:   Identify the strengths you possess that will help you in the workforce along with developing work ethics
  • Interests: Help you discover careers you will enjoy

 

 

EMPLOYMENT
Resources for both permanent and summer jobs with local employers
Internships that provide real-world experience

TRAINING
Guide you on earning your high school diploma or H.S.E. (High School Equivalency diploma, formerly the G.E.D.)
On-the-Job training opportunities

MENTORING
One-on-one counseling with a Career Advisor who will guide you through your job search and help you develop an education/training path

Helping you with your job search

  • Resume Development:  Hands on assistance with building your resume
  • Networking:  Meet people who can help you in your career search
  • Applying for jobs:  Help identify employers currently hiring and help in applying for open positions
  • Interview Preparation:  Conducting mock interviews with Career Advisor
  • Transportation:  In some instances transporation assistance is available upon request

Eligibility Requirements for WorkOne Programs and Services

  • Must be 16-24 years of age
  • U.S. citizen or eligible to work in the U.S.
  • Have a family income that meets low income guidelines
